Found this interesting video online talking about the use of direction, in other words talks about lateral character movement in films. To put this in simpler words, the direction in which your action is moving, is really important. Be it the protagonist walking from left to right or a high speed car chase. It matters.
What i like about the article is that it actually shows how mise en scène is so important in a film and how it really helps build a character or a situation. Also because it puts Film Theory into practice and we can see it in action.
One classic example which really follows this theory is when Gollum is in a conflict with himself and how in a single sequence the Director of the film( Lord of the Rings- The Two Towers) plays with the positioning of the character to make him appear evil and good at the same time. ( Left is negative and Right is Positive)
